Later that evening a friend and I crossed the bridge on our bicycles. We waxed philosophic about where the water, for the falls show, comes from. Is it pumped straight up from the river? Doubtful. Is is as fresh and clean as that which comes out of the taps at the UofA? I’d wager a bet that says yes.

So I return to the post, Alberta Bigness, tar-sands and water waste. Why not assert our dominance and sense of infinite resources, be it water, be it oil and let that waterfall of the high-level bridge every day and every night. Sure it would lose its aura as a grand spectacle on a few evenings a year, but hey, ‘it’s only water.’
