War in the age of megamachines

An illustration of a futuristic battle taken from the October 21st 1916 issue of the German news weekly, ‘Die Wochenschau’ (The Weekly Review).

You’ve seen this, right? Shades of Pruned.
One wonders whether the thinking of 1916 has found further expression in the gigantic earth-moving machinery, and whether a fascination with the gigantic represents something that subtends both war and geology. Think Douglas Adam’s Earth-destroying bulldozer, the Great Wall of China, and sci-fi movie creations of planetary size: Death Stars, Borg ships. (Which make the monolith of 2001 seem all the more elegant.) All of which are ways of ‘eating up’ space, transposing human scale onto ever-larger conceptions of our place in the universe.

I reckon Mssrs. Trevi & Manaugh would enjoy seeing this. So perhaps I’ll link to it.

Yes, in last age, we’ve seen United stated using great budget to support their war in Cold War (actually). after the end of cold war it wasn’t stop. even there are so many Agreements or treaties about prohibit to using mega budget in war technoogy, it can be undone for Super power. In this recent age US already has herd of Sattelites to support and spy the warzone in land and sea. Moreover i used to read some article that was US already had a sattelite which can control the climate change. oh no.. how come..

    thanks
